Paris is a city where cafés are more than just places to drink coffee—they are cultural landmarks, each with its own unique charm and offerings. From barista services and homemade patisseries to entire menus dedicated to breakfast, these cafés compete in creativity to attract coffee lovers. Between secret addresses and already well-established institutions, Vogue has highlighted several of the best coffee shops in the capital. These places often merge the ambiance of traditional cafés with the cultural allure of cinema, embodying the city and the encounters that change everything. Café Nuances, found in the 1st, 4th, 6th, and 8th arrondissements, has recently opened a new branch in the Marais. Designed by Harry Nuriev, the founder of Crosby Studios, the café features a decor with compressed coffee cups, stainless steel tables, and orange walls. The drinks range from classic options like flat white and espresso to original recipes such as a chocolate and coconut latte and a jasmine-scented matcha. The café also offers homemade pastries, including vegan banana bread, chocolate bread, pistachio bun, Swiss bread, cinnamon rolls, and matcha croissant. Café Kitsuné, located in the 1st, 3rd, and 11th arrondissements, has opened its first roasting workshop in Paris. The workshop is led by artisan roaster Florian Decousser and offers freshly roasted beans with traceability. The menu includes espressos, macchiatos, americanos, dirty chais, cappuccinos, flat whites, teas, pastries, juices, and ice creams. The café also offers a tableware collection signed by Café Kitsuné. Other notable spots include Base in the 6th arrondissement, which has reopened with lattes, iced matchas, and brownies or homemade cakes, and Mini Café in the 4th arrondissement on the Ile Saint-Louis, which has opened a second address with a small terrace and high tables behind large windows. The menu includes classic coffee drinks and also offers cookies, mochis, granolas, and egg-mayo sandwiches. Each of these cafés contributes to the vibrant and diverse coffee culture that defines Paris.
