As the school year begins, bringing back-to-school shopping and the usual traffic congestion, it also marks a prime time for savings on electric vehicles in France. With prices for fully electric cars dropping significantly, consumers are finding more attractive deals on popular models. This trend is largely driven by competition among manufacturers and the urgency to clear inventory before the year ends. Several major brands are offering substantial discounts, making electric vehicles more accessible than ever.
One standout example is the BYD Tang, a spacious 7-seater electric SUV that was originally priced at 72,000 euros. It is now available with a discount of 13,428 euros and a government grant of 365 euros, bringing the final price down to 58,207 euros. Similarly, Honda's e:Ny1 electric SUV has seen a 28% price drop, from 45,700 euros to 32,900 euros, thanks to a 12,800 euro customer benefit that expires at the end of the month. Nissan has also reduced the starting price of its Ariya family SUV by 6,000 euros, now available at 32,900 euros, with an additional 392 euro grant.
Other manufacturers are also participating in the price reductions. Mitsubishi’s Eclipse Cross, a model similar to the Renault Scenic, is now priced at 33,590 euros after discounts and state incentives. Kia is offering a 4,500 euro discount on its EV3 SUV until September 30, bringing the entry-level model down to around 32,000 euros. Tesla’s popular Model Y, one of the best-selling electric vehicles in France, is now available at 32,390 euros after a 5,000 euro buyback bonus and a 3,600 euro government grant.
Smaller electric vehicles are also seeing price reductions. Mazda is offering a 7,600 euro discount on its new Mazda6e electric sedan, bringing the price down to 36,900 euros. BYD’s Dolphin model is available for 26,625 euros after an 8,000 euro discount and a minimum government grant of 365 euros. MG has introduced a 5,000 euro immediate discount on its MG4 Urban model, bringing its price to 19,990 euros, while the MG4 model is now priced at 28,490 euros, down from 33,490 euros.
