A new report catalogues over 100 regenerative agriculture initiatives, highlighting efforts by cooperatives and industry leaders like Nestlé and LVMH to transform farming practices.
Regenerative agriculture initiative launched in 2026
Launched in April 2026 by the mission-driven company 2050Now La Maison, the Regenerative Agriculture Observatory brings together approximately two dozen founders from the agricultural and food sectors, with the objective of promoting regenerative agriculture at all stages of the supply chain.First report published in September 2026
On September 30, the group announced the publication of its first book cataloging more than a hundred initiatives, some of which are carried out by cooperatives. The initiative, led by 2050Now La Maison and supported by strategic consulting firms BCG and Quantis, published its first report, Le cap du bon sens, which details over a hundred projects promoting regenerative agriculture across the agro-food supply chain.Supporting farmers through transition programs
In the programs presented in the "Sector Coalition" category, in addition to sector decarbonation projects, others encourage changes in farmers' practices. The O'trement program by the Oxyane cooperative, co-developed with the Earthworm Foundation, supports farmers over five years in this transition and in managing the additional costs associated with it. In 2026, 67 farms on 9,500 hectares were engaged.Funding and financial support for regenerative practices
With a budget of 20 million euros, the program aims to reach 500 farmers by 2030. In the Hauts-de-France region, the Re'col'te project launched also by the Earthworm Foundation in December 2025, supports 175 farmers with a budget of 1.5 million euros, including 500,000 euros of public funds from Ademe.Cooperatives driving large-scale regenerative efforts
In large-scale farming, the Maïsadour cooperative launched in 2025 an European offer of waxy maize and oilseed rape based on a specification sheet and a premium of 100 euros per hectare under a multi-year contract. The first campaign in 2026 covers 10,000 tons of maize and 2,000 tons of oilseed rape with 190 farmers engaged.Financial partnerships to support regenerative agriculture
Another initiative presented: the agreement signed by McCain, the Crédit Agricole, and the GAPPI (Group of Potato Producers for Industry) in 2022. This financial contract offers potato producers loans up to 2,000 euros per hectare over six years, without application fees or guarantees, with the interest paid by the industrialist. The amount is 40 million euros.Innovative sustainability models in sugar production
With 2.5 million euros redistributed to 700 engaged cooperators, the Amplify project launched by Cristalco in 2022 proposes "the first European offer of agroecological and low-carbon sugars and alcohols." To do this, the industrialists pay a sustainability premium, which is reversed to the cooperators in the form of a bonus, according to the progress of so-called regenerative practices.National programs supporting cereal farmers
At the national level, the Vivescia group carries the Transitions program for its cereal members by associating with industrial partners. The objective: support "the financing and economic risk reduction" of practice changes. According to the report, in 2026, 650 farmers are engaged on 100,000 hectares for 600,000 tons of grain.Territorial coalitions in livestock farming
The territorial coalition project Covalo, awarded in its category, is on the side of livestock farming, notably the cooperative breeder group of Terrena in the Grand West, La Nouvelle Agriculture, which is highlighted. Initiated in 2008, the members created their own brand and their own specifications to sell their production in large distribution, with engaged farmers receiving higher compensation.Awards recognizing agroecological transition efforts
A jury composed "of farmers, researchers, experts, financial actors, specialized journalists, and representatives of the younger generation" awarded in each category "the most promising solutions in favor of the agroecological transition," without mentioning any prizes or rewards. For sector coalitions, it was the Covalo territorial coalition project that stood out.
