Choreographer Yan Raballand and dancer and cameraman Jean-Camille Goimard have created a performance titled In Vista, which features three performers, a cameraman, and a camera. The piece will be hosted by the Astrée Theatre in Villeurbanne on October 13 at 7:19 PM. Raballand and Goimard, who is also a dancer and choreographer, have been collaborating for several years. Goimard's company, Au-delà du bleu, creates projects that blend contemporary dance, extreme sports, and nature, while also focusing on restoring inclusive choreographic projects. In Vista uses a minimalist set design that emphasizes the space for the performers' bodies. The dance draws inspiration from both realistic situations and more dreamlike scenes. The cameraman, initially a discreet accomplice, becomes an active participant in the choreographic score, revealing the rhythms and spaces of the performance, as well as the relationship between the bodies and their transformation. Raballand aims to awaken the curiosity of the spectator by allowing them to observe the details, curves, and reliefs of the bodies and their intentions. This approach provokes a disturbance between those on stage and those being filmed, aiming to amplify emotions and offer a new perspective on dance. The performance also hopes to immerse the audience in the fluidity of movements, enhanced by the videographer's close-to-the-skin gaze. The collaboration between Raballand and Goimard highlights a unique fusion of dance and visual art, pushing the boundaries of traditional performance. By integrating the camera as a dynamic element, the performance challenges the audience's perception of movement and space, creating an immersive and thought-provoking experience.
