Interactive art installation description
"Les tutomouves" is an interactive art installation that invites people of all ages to engage in dance and movement within a specially designed, soft, and flexible space. The installation features a large area covered in thick carpeting and includes 240 colorful extensions made of foam and Lycra, which participants can wear to alter their movement experience.Participation and activities
Participants are encouraged to remove their shoes and explore the space, following dance tutorials displayed on a monitor. They can either replicate the movements shown on screen or create their own choreography. There is no requirement to participate actively, and individuals may choose to rest, sleep, or play instead.Collaborations and contributors
The installation is presented in collaboration with La Place de la Danse as part of the SCÉNO Festival, with support from l'Isdat danse for mediations. The project involves contributions from Soa Ratsifandrihana and Max Ricat in creating the tutorials, as well as textile assistance from Anne Tesson.Production and touring schedule
Administration, production, and distribution are handled by Iris Cottu and Clémence Huckel under the name Les Indépendances, with production by TWENTYTWENTY and co-production by Centre Pompidou – Paris and Cndc d'Angers. The installation will be accessible during the opening hours at various venues, with specific dates running from October 10 to December 2, 2026, at the Theatre de Mâcon, and continuing through multiple locations in 2027.Artistic influences and goals
The creators of "Les tutomouves" draw inspiration from the Bauhaus movement, particularly Oskar Schlemmer’s Triadic Ballet and the works of Vassily Kandinsky. The installation aims to stimulate creativity, especially among younger audiences, with an emphasis on playful and original expression.
