Performance contrasts two artists’ styles
In In Difference, Jef Everaert and Marica Marinoni explore contrasting approaches to the Cyr wheel, a large hoop used in circus performance. Everaert, known for his calm and balanced style as a juggler, contrasts with Marinoni, an acrobat who embraces instability and the edge of falling. Their performance merges object manipulation, acrobatics, and a dynamic relationship with gravity.Collaborators and creative team
The performance includes contributions from Juan Ignacio Tula and Francesco Sgrò, who provided artistic collaboration. Alexander Vantournhout, Marie Ballet, and Guillaume Servely supported the dramaturgy, while Bernard Revel designed the lighting. Francesco Sgrò also worked on the sound design, and Iorhanne Da Cunha and Emma Assaud created the costumes.Production and institutional support
The production is by Joséphine Théoleyre and Manon Gagnepain under Cirq’ônflex Dijon, with Charlotte Blin managing its diffusion. It is a delegated production of Cirq’ônflex - Dijon and includes co-productions with several national and regional circus institutions, such as Rayon C, Le Prato, and Le Théâtre de Mâcon.Funding and recognition
The project received financial support and residency accommodations from institutions like Le Théâtre de Mâcon, Plateforme 2 Pôles Cirque en Normandie, and CIRCA - Pôle National Cirque Auch. It is supported by Quint’Est, a network of live performance in Bourgogne Franche-Comté Grand Est, and is a laureate of Circusnext 2025, a European circus label. Additional support came from Territoires de Cirque, the DRAC Bourgogne Franche-Comté, and the Region Bourgogne Franche-Comté.Performance schedule and duration
