Investigation into Francis Renaud

Actor Francis Renaud is under investigation and in provisional detention following a complaint from his former partner, according to the Evreux prosecutor's office, confirming reports from France Info. The investigation is being conducted by the Criminal Organization and Specialized Division (DCOS) in Rouen.

Allegations against Renaud

The former partner alleges that Renaud forced her to have sexual relations in his presence with other men over a dozen years. Some of these events reportedly took place in Vernon, where Renaud lives, and in other parts of France.

The Evreux prosecutor, Rémi Coutin, confirmed Renaud's provisional detention on Thursday. The investigation is ongoing, and the legal process continues with the DCOS handling the case.

Francis Renaud, 59, has appeared in several films directed by Olivier Marchal, including 36 quai des Orfèvres, Les Lyonnais, and Bronx. He has also been involved in television productions such as Zodiaque and L'Affaire Villemin.

Previous legal complaints by Renaud

In 2024, Renaud filed complaints against film director André Téchiné for sexual harassment and against casting director Gérard Moulevrier for sexual assault. He also filed a complaint against an unnamed individual for threats of death.
