AEG ovens, part of the Electrolux group, have recently received a software update that allows them to reach higher temperatures than before. Previously limited to 300 °C, the updated ovens can now reach up to 340 °C. This improvement was delivered through an over-the-air (OTA) update, a method that allows devices to receive new features or improvements without needing to be physically connected to a computer or service center. The update is currently available for the premium MealAssist 7000 range of ovens. The OTA update was first introduced in 2025, adding the AirFry and AirFry+ functions. These features use a special airflow system to cook food without the need for oil, offering a healthier cooking option. To use these functions, users were encouraged to purchase a perforated cooking grid, which was available for 30 euros through the My AEG app. In 2026, another update introduced the PizzaExpert function. This feature allows users to cook pizzas quickly by reaching the maximum temperature of 340 °C, but it requires a more expensive kit that includes a cast iron plate and a pizza handling tool, priced at 99 euros. This kit helps in achieving the optimal conditions for pizza cooking, allowing the oven to prepare pizzas in just a few minutes after a 25-minute preheating period. AEG has indicated that future updates may be available through the same OTA system, though the specific features they will include have not yet been announced. This approach allows AEG to continue improving its products over time, offering users new functionalities without the need to purchase new devices.
