Security measures in Toulon

The prefect of Var announced a series of security measures ahead of the mobilization on October 31, aimed at managing potential unrest during Halloween celebrations. These measures include restrictions on movement and public gatherings in key areas of the city.

Curfew for unaccompanied minors

A curfew has been imposed on unaccompanied minors, restricting their movement between 5 p.m. and 8 a.m. during the night of Saturday to Sunday in specific areas of Toulon, including major commercial centers and public squares.

Ban on demonstrations in city center

Demonstrations, processions, parades, and gatherings with a claim-based character are prohibited on public roads within a defined perimeter of Toulon’s city center, as part of the security measures for the mobilization on October 31.

Approved demonstration route

The demonstration route was validated with the CGT, FSU, and Solidaires unions, starting from the Bourse du Travail and ending at Place Martin-Bidouré, allowing for a controlled and authorized gathering on the day of the mobilization.

Public transport suspension

The public transport network Mistral will be suspended from 10 a.m. on Saturday to 6 a.m. on Sunday across the entire metropolitan territory of Var, to help manage crowd movements and ensure public safety.

Restrictions on facial protection equipment

The use of equipment for facial protection and concealment is prohibited from 10 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. on October 31, but the prefecture clarified that wearing costumes as part of Halloween celebrations is not prohibited.
