Samsung's upcoming Galaxy A18 smartphone has had its technical details and price revealed before an official announcement. The device, identified through Samsung's official pages with the reference SM-A185F/DS, is confirmed to be a 4G dual SIM model. Its design is reportedly similar to the Galaxy A17, which launched earlier this year, and it will be available in black, light blue, and gray.
The Galaxy A18 is expected to be powered by Samsung's Exynos 1610 chip, which uses 5 nm manufacturing technology, offering up to 2.4 GHz performance across eight cores. It will include 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 2 TB using a microSD card. While a 256 GB version may be available in other regions, it won't be offered in France. The phone is said to feature a 6.7-inch Super Amoled display with a 90 Hz refresh rate, protected by Gorilla Glass Victus. It will measure approximately 164.4 x 77.9 x 7.7 mm and weigh 196 grams, with a dust and water resistance rating of IP64.
For photography, the Galaxy A18 is expected to have a triple rear camera system, including a 50-megapixel main lens, a 5-megapixel ultra-wide angle lens, and a 2-megapixel macro lens. The front-facing camera will be 13 megapixels. The device will include a 5000 mAh battery, supporting 25 W fast charging, along with Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity. It will run on Android 17 with Samsung's One UI 9, and users can expect six years of software updates.
The Galaxy A18 4G is expected to cost 279 euros in France, which is slightly higher than earlier leaked figures but more than the 199 euros of the Galaxy A17 when it launched. This increase is attributed to higher component costs, particularly due to increased demand for AI-related parts. Samsung is reportedly planning to produce 33.7 million Galaxy A models between August and November, with nearly 58% of all smartphones and tablets made during this period. This includes around 18 million units of the A17 and A18 models.
The Galaxy A18 4G is expected to launch between late September and October 8, 2026. A 5G version of the device may be released in early 2027, potentially featuring Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chip instead of Samsung’s Exynos processor.
