Brighton & Hove Albion have signed Spanish midfielder Chema Andres from Bundesliga side Stuttgart in a £15.5 million deal. The 21-year-old has signed a five-year contract with the Seagulls, with the transfer completed on transfer deadline day. Andres, who plays for Spain’s Under-21 team, made 41 appearances for Stuttgart last season after joining from Real Madrid in 2025. He came through Real Madrid’s youth system and made his La Liga debut in January 2025. During his time at Stuttgart, he contributed to the team’s qualification for the UEFA Champions League. In addition to Andres, Brighton have also agreed to sign Nigerian winger Femi Azeez from Millwall. The 25-year-old scored 11 goals and provided eight assists in 37 games last season, earning a spot in the PFA Championship team of the year. Azeez has long sought a move to the Premier League, and Millwall had rejected three previous bids from Brighton. His departure would set a club transfer record for Millwall, with an initial fee of £12.5 million, potentially rising to over £15 million with add-ons. Brighton have been busy in the summer transfer window, making 11 signings so far, including their record £45 million purchase of Tottenham’s Luka Vuskovic. The club has also generated significant funds from player sales, such as the £70 million move of Carlos Baleba to Manchester United. There have also been reported links between Liverpool and Brighton winger Yankuba Minteh, though nothing has been confirmed. Azeez joined Millwall from Reading in 2024 for around £1 million and is now entering the final two years of his contract. His arrival at Brighton will allow winger Amario Cozier-Duberry, who has signed a new contract with the club, to leave on loan. This move allows Brighton to manage their squad depth while bringing in new talent for the upcoming season.
