Pegasus Airlines has partnered with Lufthansa Technik for new maintenance projects, marking a significant expansion in their collaboration.
Pegasus Airlines partners with Lufthansa Technik
Pegasus Airlines has assigned a new maintenance mission to Lufthansa Technik, marking the first time the German MRO company will manage two aircraft return projects at the end of lease contracts for the Turkish low-cost carrier this winter. Maintenance work will be done in Sofia
The transition work will be carried out by Lufthansa Technik Sofia, which plans to provide basic maintenance services to Pegasus for at least 23 aircraft from the Airbus A320 family on two dedicated maintenance lines during the winter season of 2026-2027. C-checks and aircraft returns combined
The two returns are part of an existing C-check program, which are typically conducted separately from scheduled maintenance activities. This arrangement integrates the return of leased aircraft with routine maintenance checks. Long-term collaboration between companies
Lufthansa Technik and Pegasus Airlines have been collaborating since 2012 on fleet maintenance, and more than a hundred inspections have been carried out since then. Their latest multi-year agreement dates back to 2024 and provides that all services will be conducted based in Sofia. Pegasus highlights partnership growth
"Our fleet having significantly expanded in recent years, our technical operations needs have also increased. (...) This expansion marks a new important stage in our partnership, combining scheduled C-check activities with aircraft return projects in a way that supports both our operational and fleet planning goals," comments Kristofer Kuzulidis, head of contracts and services at Pegasus Airlines.
