LS Technics signs major maintenance deal with Wizz Air

LS Technics, a Polish maintenance, repair, and overhaul company, has signed a five-year agreement with Wizz Air, a low-cost Hungarian airline, to handle the base maintenance of Wizz Air's fleet. This contract is considered the most significant in LS Technics' history and involves maintaining over 275 single-aisle Airbus A320 aircraft.

Maintenance operations begin in two Polish cities

The agreement includes the use of six maintenance lines spread across Katowice and Gdańsk during the first year. Operations started in July, with the first maintenance visits conducted in the H3 hangar in Katowice and the opening of a new maintenance line in Gdańsk. In September, LS Technics also launched operations in the newly opened H4 hangar in Katowice.

Scope of maintenance services detailed

The contract covers a wide range of services, including light and structural base visits, end-of-lease visits, replacement of landing gear and thrust reversers, and maintenance of engines and auxiliary power units. These services involve tasks such as borescope inspections, non-destructive tests, washing and weighing of aircraft.

Long-term partnership expanded

The agreement extends a partnership between LS Technics and Wizz Air that has lasted over ten years, covering maintenance, logistics, and technical support. In 2018, the collaboration was expanded to include base maintenance, and this new contract is expected to accelerate LS Technics' investments in infrastructure, equipment, systems, and personnel.

Future plans for infrastructure upgrades

LS Technics has already begun planning the modernization of the Gdańsk hangar, with a scheduled completion date of 2029. This upgrade is part of the company's strategy to meet the demands of the new contract and support its growing maintenance operations for Wizz Air's fleet.
