Design remains consistent

The Apple Watch Ultra 4 keeps the same bulky, adventurer-focused design as the Ultra 3, which was introduced in 2022. This makes it more robust than standard Apple Watch models, with the same dimensions and weight.

Internal upgrades and price

Inside, the Ultra 4 features the Apple S11 chip, a new heart sensor, and improved recovery tracking functions. It is now available for less than 870 euros, with a 30-euro discount from its original price of 899 euros at PC Componentes.

Screen brightness comparison

The watch retains the same OLED screen as the Ultra 3, which has a peak brightness of 3000 cd/m². This is less than some competitors, like Samsung, which offers up to 5000 cd/m², potentially making the screen harder to read in bright sunlight.

Durability and size

The Apple Watch Ultra 4 is built to last, featuring a titanium case and MIL-STD-810H certification. This makes it suitable for outdoor activities like mountain climbing and everyday wear, with the same dimensions as the previous model: 49 x 44 x 12 mm and 63 grams.

Battery life and features

The Ultra 4 offers a battery life of three days and 19 hours when features like always-on display, sleep tracking, and continuous SpO2 and heart rate monitoring are enabled. However, this can vary based on how the watch is used.

Health tracking and limitations

The watch includes the same sensors as previous models but adds the S11 chip and a new heart sensor for more detailed health tracking, including recovery indicators. While GPS works well for running and hiking, it lacks mapping display during training and has some heart rate tracking issues. Also, Siri AI and Audio Intelligence are not available in France.
