Educational mosaic activity for children

During the Toussaint holidays, the Pont du Gard site is offering a range of educational activities for visitors. One activity, "I Make My Ancient Mosaic," allows children to explore Gallo-Roman decorations and create their own small mosaic. The event takes place on Sunday, October 18, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Ancient surveying tools on display

Another activity, "The Surveyor and the Aqueduct: Scientific Manipulations," invites visitors to use ancient instruments such as the groma and chorobate to understand how Roman surveyors designed aqueducts. This activity is available from Monday, October 19, to Friday, October 30, from 4 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. and is included in the admission fee to the discovery spaces.

Tasting Gallo-Roman cuisine

On Wednesday, October 21, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., visitors can participate in "I Make My Roman Snack," where they can taste the flavors of Gallo-Roman cuisine with recipes such as herb-flavored moretum and pine nut-stuffed dates.

Creating a Roman bulla

On Wednesday, October 28, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., children can create their own Roman bulla, a small pouch worn around the neck by young Romans. This activity allows them to discover the world of Roman childhood and create their own amulet.

Halloween-themed tour offered

For Halloween, the Pont du Gard site offers a special tour titled Shivers on the Bridge, which takes place on Friday, October 30, and Saturday, October 31, from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The tour explores the darker stories of the monument and includes a flashlight tour up to the top of the Pont du Gard. Admission is 6 € per child and 15 € per adult, with reservations required for visitors aged seven and older.
