SSD prices remain high, discounts are valuable

The prices of solid-state drives (SSDs) are expected to stay high for some time, making any available discounts worth considering. At Amazon, the Corsair MP600 Core XT M.2 SSD in its 1 terabyte (TB) version is currently discounted by 21%, dropping from 278.99 euros to 219.99 euros, with delivery included.

Design and installation features

The 1 TB Corsair MP600 Core XT SSD is an internal M.2 2280 model that uses a PCIe 4.0 interface. It is designed to fit into computers with a compatible M.2 NVMe 2280 slot. The M.2 2280 format allows the drive to be mounted directly on the motherboard, similar to a RAM stick, reducing the need for additional cables inside the case.

Use cases and performance considerations

The SSD can be used for a variety of purposes, such as installing an operating system like Windows 11 to improve boot times, or for gaming platforms like Steam. However, it is not ideal for tasks that involve frequent and large data writes, such as editing high-resolution video. This is due to its use of QLC (quad-level cell) memory, which has lower write endurance compared to other types.

Strengths and limitations

The Corsair MP600 Core XT SSD offers a 1 TB capacity, an M.2 2280 format that avoids extra cabling, and a five-year warranty. However, its QLC memory may not be suitable for users who regularly handle large files, and the 1 TB capacity may fill up quickly with large games or software.

Current offer and alternative options

Amazon's offer for the 1 TB Corsair MP600 Core XT SSD at 219.99 euros is available for a limited time. If you need to expand your PC's storage and have a compatible M.2 NVMe 2280 slot, this SSD could be a good choice. However, for users who frequently perform heavy data writes, a more durable SSD with TLC (triple-level cell) memory would be more appropriate.

Additional promotions available

Alongside the SSD discount, various other promotions are available, including a Cyberghost VPN subscription for 2.19 euros per month, online storage deals like pCloud Pass Premium for 119 euros for life, and mobile plans such as the B&You 100Go 5G plan for 13.99 euros per month. These offers range from cybersecurity solutions to AI access and streaming subscriptions.
