Audi has set a new world record for the longest range of a production electric vehicle, according to a statement released on September 24. The German automaker confirmed that its Audi A6 Sportback e-tron Performance traveled 1,338 kilometers on a single charge, a feat officially certified by Guinness World Records. The record was achieved by Miko Marczyk, the reigning European rally champion from Poland, who drove the vehicle across Poland. The journey began on September 11 at 1:55 am and followed the Vistula River, passing through major cities like Krakow, Warsaw, Grudziądz, and Hel on the Baltic Sea coast. Marczyk then retraced the route in the opposite direction until the battery was fully depleted, completing the trip over 45 hours after departure. The average speed for the entire journey, including stops, was less than 30 km/h. The trip took place under normal traffic conditions, including several segments during rush hours. The average temperature during the journey was 15 °C, with a low of 7 °C in Grudziądz during the early morning. The average energy consumption during the trip was 7.09 kWh per 100 kilometers, which is significantly lower than the vehicle's rated consumption of 13.6 kWh per 100 km. The Audi A6 e-tron Sportback is equipped with a 100 kWh battery (with 94.9 kWh usable capacity) and is rated for a range of up to 777 kilometers according to the WLTP cycle. It has a power output of 367 horsepower and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.4 seconds. The vehicle also boasts a drag coefficient of 0.21, the lowest ever achieved by an Audi model, which helps improve its efficiency and range. The Audi A6 e-tron is built on the PPE (Premium Platform Electric) platform, which is part of the Volkswagen Group's electric vehicle strategy. The car features an 800-volt electrical architecture, enabling fast charging at up to 270 kW. This allows the vehicle to charge from 10% to 80% in about 21 minutes. The record set by Audi surpasses the previous one held by the Lucid Air, which achieved a range of 1,205 kilometers on a single charge in July 2025. This accomplishment highlights Audi's advancements in electric vehicle technology and its commitment to pushing the boundaries of range and efficiency in the EV market.
