The Alps Tour Grand Final moves to Hulencourt, Belgium, with high stakes for the Order of Merit and HotelPlanner Tour qualification.
Alps Tour moves to Hulencourt
For the first time, the Alps Tour is holding its final event in Hulencourt, Belgium. The Hulencourt Alps Tour Grand Final takes place in Genappe, a town in the Belgian countryside south of Brussels.Course details and challenges
The event is being held on the Vallon course, a par 72 measuring 6,686 meters. Designed by Jean-Manuel Rossi in 1988 and later revised by Frank Pont and Hendrik Hilgert, the course was inaugurated in its renovated version in 2020. It is expected to test the players' power and precision with four par 5 holes exceeding 500 meters and several water obstacles.Prize fund and scoring system
The prize fund for the event reaches 60,000 euros, and the scoring system provides for 60,000 points. This total can change the hierarchy, and the 48 qualified players will have until the end the possibility to change their standing, without a cut.Order of Merit battle
The battle for the Order of Merit will be a key focus of the final. Italian Andrea Romano (1st) and Frenchmen Alexandre Vandermoten (2nd) and Maxime Legros (3rd) are entering the event at the top and can still claim the first place. The title should still be decided between the two top players, both of whom have been crowned four times this year.Legros' position and challenges
Maxime Legros and Andrea Romano are separated by only 1,500 points. It will require at least a victory for Legros and poor performances from his direct opponents to have a chance to win the Order of Merit. The objective will rather be to defend his position on the podium.Access to the higher level
The other major battle concerns access to the higher level. In practice, the top five of the Order of Merit will secure their place on the HotelPlanner Tour in 2027. The top three have already secured the first three tickets, leaving two more to be contested.French players' chances
Among the best-placed French players, Paul Franquet is in seventh place with 21,514.89 points before the final. He is only 1,909 points behind fifth place. A top performance in Hulencourt could allow him to cross the threshold into the top five.Holé's difficult situation
For Augustin Holé, the situation is more delicate. Currently 14th with 16,344.84 points, he is more than 7,000 points behind fifth place. The scoring system of the final gives him a mathematical possibility, but the scenario is more demanding. The player from the C&S Golf Team has no choice but to win in Belgium this Saturday to hope to qualify for the HotelPlanner Tour.
