French golfers qualify for PQ2 events

French golfers who earned spots through the PQ1 events, held from August 25 to September 25 at ten European sites, are now set to compete in the PQ2 events in Spain, scheduled from October 29 to November 1. These events serve as qualifiers for higher-level tournaments and are part of a broader European golf circuit.

Vaudreuil qualifiers highlight the field

Among the golfers who qualified at the Vaudreuil site in France is Paul Beauvy, who secured his spot with a score of -20. Other qualifiers from the same location include Théo Boulet, Alexis Leray, and Robin Sciot-Siegrist, each of whom will now compete in Spain.

Qualifiers from various European locations

Other notable qualifiers come from different parts of Europe. In Belgium, Martin Farfal and Antoine Pouguet qualified, while Bastien Amat did so in Germany. Ignacio Aracaya from England and Louis Bonte from Austria also earned spots, showing the wide geographical spread of the competition.

Top-ranked golfers join the field

Alexandre Vandermoten, Maxime Legros, and Paul Franquet, who are ranked 1st, 3rd, and 7th respectively in the Alps Tour Order of Merit, are participating. Vandermoten and Legros already have guaranteed entry to the HotelPlanner Tour in 2027, adding to their prestige in the event.

Potential additions to the Spanish field

Jeong Weon Ko and Félix Mory could join the competition if they do not win the Genesis Championship in South Korea this week. If they lose, they will join Clément Charmasson, Quentin Debove, and Clément Sordet in Spain, expanding the field further.

Other golfers aiming for qualification

Grégory Bourdy, ranked 95th in the Career Money List, is attempting to qualify again, while Mathieu Decottignies-Lafon, ranked between 61st and 125th in the Road to Mallorca, and Julien Quesne and Pierre Pineau are trying to extend their seasons and qualify for the final in Tarragona from November 6 to 11.

Veteran players and notable absences

Gary Stal, a European Tour winner in 2015, and Romain Wattel, who won in 2017, are also competing, with Stal playing at Isla Canela Links in Andalusia and Wattel at Fontanals Golf Club in Gérone. Notably, Benjamin Hébert and Alexander Levy are not participating, with Hébert considering his career future and Levy virtually qualified for the final but listed for a different event.
