Voicemod, a company known for its voice-changing software, has introduced a new mobile device called the Key Pocket. This device builds on the success of the Voicemod Key, a dongle launched in late 2024 that enabled real-time voice modification on gaming consoles like the Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch. The Key Pocket extends this functionality to mobile devices, allowing users to change their voice or add sound effects while playing games, making calls, or streaming on Apple or Android phones. It is available for $99.90 as a standalone unit or as part of a $129.90 bundle that includes a Voicemod Pro license. The Pro license grants lifetime access to hundreds of official voices and thousands from the community, plus features like custom voice creation and cross-platform syncing. Voicemod had previously expanded its reach beyond PCs with the launch of Voicemod Clips on iOS and Android in 2020. However, these mobile apps were limited to voice changes during the recording of short clips for later sharing. Due to privacy restrictions on mobile operating systems, apps cannot alter microphone audio in real-time and send it to other apps. The Key Pocket bypasses this limitation by acting as an external audio bridge. It connects to a wired or Bluetooth microphone, processes the audio using Voicemod's app, and then sends the modified audio to other apps like Fortnite, Roblox, Discord, or even phone and video calling apps, using a USB-C cable. The Key Pocket includes six programmable buttons that let users quickly switch between different voices or sound effects. It also features a dedicated mute button and a glowing LED dial that can be customized to adjust voice settings or volume. These controls make it easy to manage voice changes on the go. Like its predecessor, the Voicemod Key, the Key Pocket can also be used with the latest generation of gaming consoles, including the Nintendo Switch 2 and recent versions of the Meta Quest headset, offering a versatile solution for gamers and content creators.
