French duo reaches Basel final

Theo Arribagé and Albano Olivetti, both French tennis players, have reached the final of the ATP 500 of Basel. They defeated the German Constantin Frantzen and the Dutch Robin Haase with scores of 7-6(4) and 7-6(5) after 1 hour and 27 minutes of play on Saturday.

Strong performance continues

This victory marks another strong performance for the pair, who had previously reached the final of the ATP 250 of Lyon last Sunday. They have not lost a set this week in Basel, having previously defeated Hugo Nys and Édouard Roger-Vasselin with scores of 6-4 and 7-5, and then Alex Michelsen and Botic van de Zandschulp with 7-5 and 6-1.

Swiss duo advances to final

In the final, they will face the Swiss pair Henry Bernet and Dominic Stricker, who also reached the final by defeating the first seeds Kevin Krawietz and Tim Pütz with scores of 6-4 and 6-4. Stricker has previously won doubles titles in Gstaad in 2021 and 2023.

Basel title could secure ATP Finals spot

For Arribagé and Olivetti, winning the Basel title would help them secure their first joint qualification for the ATP Finals in Turin. A victory would move them up to sixth place in the Race for the ATP Finals, placing them in a favorable position before the final battle at the Rolex Paris Masters. Five pairs are still competing for the last two spots in the ATP Finals.
