Renault has unveiled upgrades to its Scénic E-Tech electric SUV, focusing on improved battery technology, faster charging, and new features. The 2026 model represents a significant step for Renault beyond its popular Renault 5 electric vehicle, introducing enhanced batteries, greater driving range, and improved fast-charging capabilities. These upgrades aim to make the Scénic E-Tech more competitive in the growing electric vehicle market. For the entry-level model, the Scénic E-Tech is equipped with a 67 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, similar to the one found in the Mégane E-Tech. This battery provides a driving range of up to 467 kilometers under the Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure (WLTP). It also supports fast charging at 165 kW, allowing the battery to charge from 15% to 80% in just 24 minutes. The higher-range version features an 89 kWh nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) battery, offering a range of 642 km and fast charging at 150 kW, which brings the same 15% to 80% charge in 28 minutes. Inside the vehicle, new features include the integration of Google Gemini as a voice assistant and a magnetic induction Qi2 charger for wireless phone charging. Connectivity is enhanced with 2 GB of mobile data per month for three years after purchase. The driving assistance systems have also been upgraded with the "Multi Target" function, which tracks multiple vehicles and their movements to better predict potential hazards. Additional safety features include an emergency stop assistant and a Smart mode that automatically adjusts the car’s handling for optimal performance. The Scénic E-Tech also receives a fresh design with two new paint colors, "satin slate blue" and "exo galaxy gray," along with redesigned 19 and 20-inch wheels. It is manufactured in France at the Douai plant using European-sourced batteries, making it eligible for ecological bonuses. The 89 kWh version is now available to order starting at 46,990 euros with the Techno trim. Higher-end trims, such as Esprit Alpine and Iconic, are offered as optional packages to stay within the government’s price cap of 47,000 euros, ensuring the maximum CEE bonus of 8,240 euros. This reduces the effective cost to 38,750 euros. The 67 kWh version will be added to the lineup in the autumn, starting at 39,990 euros, or 31,750 euros after applying the bonus.
