New XGIMI projectors available for pre-order in France

The new XGIMI Horizon 30 projectors are now available for pre-order in France, with prices ranging from 1,999 to 2,999 euros. Three models—Horizon 30 Pro, Max, and Ultra Max—are being offered, all sharing most of their key features.

Shared features across the Horizon 30 models

All three Horizon 30 models feature 4K resolution at 120 Hz, variable refresh rate (VRR), an optical zoom, and a lens shift. They also use a triple RGB laser source combined with a new intelligent double iris system to improve contrast and black depth, which was a weakness in the previous Horizon 20 Max.

Differences in brightness and contrast between models

The Horizon 30 Pro claims 4,800 ISO lumens and a native contrast of 8,000:1, while the Max offers 5,300 lumens and 9,000:1. The Ultra Max has the highest specifications with 6,000 lumens and 10,000:1. However, the Horizon 30 Max shows a brightness about 7% lower than its predecessor, the Horizon 20 Max.

Limited brightness gains and similar core features

The brightness improvements between models are relatively small: about 10% for the Max over the Pro and 25% for the Ultra Max. The core features like Google TV, Harman Kardon audio, and gaming functions are the same across all three models, with a latency of 1.9 ms in 4K at 120 Hz.

Pricing and additional offers for pre-orders

The Horizon 30 Pro is available for 1,999 euros until October 31, while the Max and Ultra Max cost 2,499 and 2,999 euros respectively. Pre-orders include a choice of support, 3D glasses, and a discount for the XGIMI Ascend screen. After October 31, the prices will increase, reducing the gap between the Pro and Max to 300 euros.

Delivery dates and recommended choices

Deliveries for the Horizon 30 Pro and Max are expected in early November, while the Ultra Max will arrive around mid-November. The Pro appears to be the most cost-effective choice for most users, while the Ultra Max may be more appealing for those seeking very large images in a dark room.
