Free workshops to reduce waste

Grenoble Alpes Métropole is organizing a series of free workshops from October 15 to December 17 to help residents reduce waste. The program includes sessions on vermicomposting, zero-waste gardening, and reusable period protections. Registration for the workshops is available on the Grenoble Alpes Métropole website.

Reusable period protections workshop

A workshop on reusable period protections is scheduled for Monday, October 19 at 10:00 AM at the Espace Vie Etudiante in Saint-Martin-d'Hères (Isère). The session, organized by the association BonSang!, will cover the advantages of these solutions, ways to obtain them, and usage tips. Each participant will receive a menstrual cup at the end of the session.

Vermicomposting for apartment dwellers

Another workshop focused on vermicomposting, a technique that uses worms to transform organic waste into natural fertilizer, is planned for Tuesdays, November 10 and December 8, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. This session is organized by the association Terre Climat Environnement and is aimed at people without a garden who wish to valorize their food waste.

Composting for gardeners

For residents with a garden, a workshop titled "composting and zero-waste gardening" is scheduled for Saturday, October 17, from 10:00 AM to noon in Herbeys (Isère). The session will provide guidance on composting food waste and managing garden waste. This workshop is also organized by Terre Climat Environnement.

Reusable diapers workshop

Additionally, a practical workshop on reusable diapers is set for Tuesday, November 3, from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Belledonne Clinic in Saint-Martin-d'Hères. Organized by the association Tohu-Bohu, the session will allow participants to explore different models of diapers, their environmental advantages, and advice on storing and washing them. Each participant will receive a set of reusable diapers for a period of one month.
