Qonto, a French fintech company, has moved its headquarters to the impasse de Bonne-Nouvelle in the 10th arrondissement of Paris. The new headquarters is in a modern circular building that used to be a post office. The space covers 11,000 square meters across nine floors, featuring 900 workstations, 55 meeting rooms, 90 telephone booths, and two conference spaces that can hold up to 425 people. The building also includes a rooftop with a 360-degree panoramic view of Paris. Qonto previously had offices in the same neighborhood but moved to the rue de Navarin in Pigalle a year ago. At that time, another fintech company, Swile, had just opened new offices in the same area. Qonto's return to the 10th arrondissement marks a major expansion, reflecting the company’s goal of becoming the leading financial infrastructure for small and medium-sized enterprises, micro-enterprises, and independent workers. In January 2022, Qonto raised 486 million euros in funding, increasing its valuation to 4.4 billion euros and making it the largest French unicorn at the time. The company had aimed to reach one million customers in the same year but has since decided to slow its growth to avoid overextending in a challenging economic and political environment in France and Europe. As of now, Qonto claims to have more than 750,000 client companies across eight European countries, including France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Portugal. During the inauguration of its new headquarters, Qonto's co-founder and CEO, Alexandre Prot, said the company is entering a new phase in its development, aiming to become a full-fledged bank. Qonto has applied for a banking license from the Prudential Control and Resolution Authority (ACPR) in the summer of 2025. Once approved, the company will be able to offer long-term credit and potentially introduce savings and investment products. Currently, Qonto is gaining market share through its company creation solution, which has recently been launched in Italy and the Netherlands. In France, one out of every four new companies is now created using Qonto's services.
