LinkedIn is testing a new feature that separates its news feed into two distinct sections. The professional social network is experimenting with a **Network** tab on its mobile app, which would group posts only from people the user is connected to or explicitly follows. This test was introduced on September 18 by Hari Srinivasan, LinkedIn's chief product officer for the Ecosystem. For some users, the top of the news feed is now divided into two tabs: For You, which retains the current recommendation logic and appears first in shared screenshots, and Network, which is limited to posts from people the user is connected to or follows. According to Srinivasan, the Network tab is intended to help users stay in touch with their professional connections. LinkedIn has not yet shared details about the size of the test group, how long the feature will be tested, or when it might be rolled out more widely. It is also unclear whether the new feature applies only to individual users or includes company pages as well. The move comes as LinkedIn aims to promote more authentic content and return to its original principle of connecting professionals. The platform has been trying to rebalance its feed, where content from creators and accounts with large audiences has become increasingly prominent. This test is part of LinkedIn's ongoing efforts to clean up its feed. In May, the company introduced a system to detect AI-generated posts, limiting their distribution to the immediate network of their authors. At the end of July, LinkedIn added a "Seems like AI slop" button, allowing users to report content that appears to be generated by AI. Srinivasan emphasized the importance of feedback from real members rather than relying solely on automated detection tools. LinkedIn has been experimenting with various feed formats since February 2025, including a My Network tab and suggested thematic feeds. However, none of these alternatives have been fully implemented yet. The company is still searching for the right approach to enhance user experience while maintaining the integrity of its professional networking platform.
