Campaign highlights breast cancer awareness

The municipality of Amélie-les-Bains-Palalda is organizing a month-long campaign called October Rose to raise awareness about breast cancer, promote open conversations, and highlight the importance of early detection. The initiative includes a variety of events aimed at engaging the community and providing information.

Workshop kicks off the campaign

The campaign began on Friday, October 9, with a yog'art workshop led by Caroline Gonzales at Microfolie. This event combined body expression and creativity, offering participants a unique way to engage with the theme of breast cancer awareness.

Public events planned for the week

On Monday, October 19, the town hall square will be decorated starting at 9 a.m., followed by an information stand in the town hall at 10 a.m. Later that day, a free lottery will take place at the Palmyre residence, and board games will be offered at the Riviera hall.

Medical expertise and film screening

On Tuesday, October 20, Dr. Michèle Engel will give a conference at the town hall at 10 a.m., followed by a session for questions and discussion. On Wednesday, October 21, the film Le Souffle du dragon will be screened at Microfolie, exploring different perspectives on life paths and realities related to breast cancer.

Community activities and solidarity

On Thursday, October 22, a gentle walk to the Grand Market will be organized, starting at 10 a.m. in front of the town hall. Later that day, a collective workshop titled "Éclats de roses, éclat de vie" will be held at Microfolie, focusing on creating messages of hope and solidarity.

Café to wrap up the campaign

The campaign will conclude on Friday, October 23, with a café blabla event at the Maison des Améliens, where Valérie and Rebecca will lead a discussion centered on exchange and conviviality.
