Google has introduced an updated AI tool named CC, designed to help families and groups stay more organized. This agentic AI platform operates with its own Google account, allowing up to six family members to share information. Each user can choose which emails to share with the AI agent—either sending individual messages when needed or designating specific email addresses to always forward to the CC account. The tool also creates a shared calendar and task list that all group members can access, and it sends out a daily briefing with details about upcoming events and tasks. CC can assist with practical tasks like filing paperwork, filling out registration forms, or creating a shopping list. However, it is designed to ask for user permission before performing any action, ensuring that the AI does not act autonomously without approval. The name CC may sound familiar, as Google first introduced an experimental tool with the same name in December. However, it was later rebranded as part of the company’s Daily Briefing feature earlier this year. Now, based on feedback from early testers, Google is shifting the focus of the CC project to be more family-oriented and centered around organization. Users can integrate CC into a Google Drive folder or share specific files with the AI agent. They can also interact with it through a dedicated Google Chat window. Google has outlined some privacy limitations in its FAQ, such as restrictions on CC adding or removing family members and accessing individual inboxes. Current CC users will be prompted by Google to upgrade their accounts and try the new features. For those interested in trying the tool, there is a waitlist for new users who want to use this agentic approach to outsource their planning.
