Attendance record at Tous Paysans fair

The Tous Paysans fair in Alençon set a new attendance record during its recent edition, drawing 10,500 visitors over the two-day event held on October 24 and 25.

Return of cattle contests

Nearly 2,000 animals, including 400 cattle, were present at the fair, marking the return of cattle contests after they were absent in 2025 due to concerns over contagious nodular dermatitis (CND), a skin disease in cattle.

Farmers welcome the change

The fair, which had previously prohibited festive cattle gatherings to limit the spread of CND, was welcomed by farmers who expressed relief at the resumption of contests. Jean-Baptiste Radigue, a dairy farmer from Bagnoles-de-l'Orne, stated that returning to the fair was an opportunity to share a good time among farmers in a spirit of competition.

Focus on agricultural diversity

Beyond the contests, the fair highlighted the diversity of the agricultural world, featuring training organizations that introduced career paths and professions in the sector, especially for young people.

Family-friendly activities and local products

The producers' market allowed visitors to discover local products, and family-friendly activities such as tractor and pony baptisms were available for children. The event aimed to introduce the realities and skills of the agricultural world to the general public.
