Release date and platform
Stellar Blade’s Complete Edition has been released on Nintendo Switch 2 on November 5, 2026, providing a portable version of the action-RPG developed by South Korean studio Shift Up. The game is available on the eShop for 59.99 euros, in French, and also comes in a physical edition with all content on a cartridge.Content included in the Complete Edition
The Complete Edition includes the base game, post-launch additions like Boss Rush mode and New Game +, as well as all additional content packs. These include crossovers with NieR: Automata and Goddess of Victory: Nikke, which add new characters, weapons, and story elements to the game.Game’s narrative and themes
Set in a post-apocalyptic future, Stellar Blade follows EVE, an elite cybernetic fighter sent to Earth to reclaim it from the Naytibas, monstrous creatures that have driven humanity to the brink of extinction. The game’s narrative draws inspiration from NieR: Automata, with themes of humanity, artificial intelligence, and the meaning of existence.Gameplay mechanics and customization
The gameplay combines elements of beat 'em up, action-RPG, and souls-like mechanics, with a deep combat system that emphasizes timing management, perfect parries, and dodges. EVE’s arsenal includes a variety of weapons, exospines, and upgrade modules that allow for customization of combat style.Visuals and technical adjustments
The Switch 2 version of Stellar Blade has made technical concessions to run on Nintendo's hybrid console, which has less raw power than its competitors. The developers used a customized version of DLSS upscaling and image interpolation techniques to achieve a fluid 60 frames per second, though this comes with noticeable visual artifacts like blurring in EVE’s hair and some graphical pop-in effects.Reception and gameplay experience
The Switch 2 port is praised for its optimization and the inclusion of features such as gyroscopic functions and mouse mode support. While the visuals are not as sharp as on other platforms, the gameplay remains responsive and enjoyable, with a perceived fluidity that is enhanced by the use of image generation. The game offers around 25 to 30 hours of gameplay in normal mode, with the possibility of extending playtime to over 50 hours with exploration and side quests.
