The next film by Zach Cregger, titled The Flood, is taking shape with Jennifer Lawrence cast as the heroine. The science fiction project will follow a team of scientists isolated in a space station and their discovery of an extraterrestrial object that alters time, reality, and the mind. The screenplay is written by Cregger himself, adapted from one of his original ideas. According to The Hollywood Reporter, filming will begin in Europe at the beginning of the year 2027. The film is expected to be released in French cinemas on August 9, 2028. Jennifer Lawrence is also set to star in Martin Scorsese's next film, What Happens at Night, alongside Leonardo DiCaprio. Rumors suggest she could also appear for a cameo in the next Hunger Games, scheduled for release in November. Cregger is working on another project in parallel with The Flood: Gladys, a spin-off of Évanouis which allowed his actress, Amy Madigan, to win the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress. The film, co-written by Cregger, will be released on September 6, 2028.
