Bourgogne Franche-Comté and Wisconsin explore collaboration

Two years ago, a delegation from France's Bourgogne Franche-Comté region traveled to Wisconsin to explore potential collaborations. The visit marked the beginning of a partnership between the two regions, focusing on areas like biotherapies and other scientific fields.

Leaders commit to long-term partnership

Jérôme Durain, president of Bourgogne Franche-Comté, emphasized that the relationship with Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers is being maintained to ensure continued cooperation, even if transatlantic trade conditions change. Both parties are working to sustain this partnership.

Agreement outlines key cooperation areas

According to the twinning agreement, the two regions have committed to developing exchanges and cooperation in several areas, including agriculture and the dairy sector, biosciences, research and innovation, water and sanitation technologies, clean energy, culture, and education.

Governor calls it a new stage in relations

Governor Tony Evers described the twinning agreement as a "new stage" in the growing relationship between Wisconsin and Bourgogne Franche-Comté. He highlighted that this partnership, the first of its kind in Wisconsin in over 35 years, is aimed at achieving shared prosperity and growth.

Region expands its international collaborations

The twinning with Wisconsin adds to Bourgogne Franche-Comté's existing international collaborations, which include partnerships with regions in Germany, the Czech Republic, Poland, Ukraine, South Africa, and Chile. These efforts reflect a broader strategy to build global connections.
