Gironde's long-term job seekers rose 11.9% in a year, with 45.8% registered for at least one year, according to the latest France Travail report.
Registration growth in Gironde
In Gironde, 71,640 people were registered with France Travail for at least one year during the third quarter of 2026, which is 45.8% of the registered individuals required to seek employment. This number has increased by 11.9% over twelve months, according to a departmental report published on October 28 by Dreets Nouvelle-Aquitaine, which used data from France Travail and the Dares.Duration of registration increases
The overall categories A, B, and C have increased by 4.9% over the same period. This difference shows that the duration of registration has increased for an increasing number of individuals. The figures cover the entire department, from the Bordeaux metropolitan area to the employment basins of Libourne, the Arcachon Basin, and South Gironde.Concentration of increase between one and two years
The increase is particularly concentrated between one and two years. Among those registered for at least one year, 34,550 have been registered for one to less than two years, an increase of 17% over one year. The Dreets also counts 14,400 people registered for two to less than three years and 22,690 registered for three years or more.Total registered individuals in Gironde
In total, Gironde has 156,520 registered individuals in categories A, B, and C, which is 2,260 more than in the previous quarter. At the level of Nouvelle-Aquitaine, there are 507,460, an increase of 0.9% over three months. The proportion of those registered for at least one year reaches 46.5% in the region, slightly above the 45.8% observed in Gironde.Age-related differences in registration
Young people, seniors, and people without activity have different situations. Those under 25 years old represent 22,650 registered individuals in Gironde in categories A, B, and C, an increase of 7.2% over one year. Those aged 25 to 49 are 94,700, an increase of 5.1%, while those aged 50 and over are 39,170, an increase of 3.3%. These age-related data concern all registered individuals required to seek employment, not just long-term registered individuals.Breakdown of registration categories
The distinction between the categories also clarifies the situation. Category A, which includes registered individuals without employment who are required to seek it, reaches 83,790 people in Gironde, an increase of 5.6% over one year. Categories B and C bring together 72,730 people who have carried out reduced activity. Therefore, registration with France Travail does not necessarily correspond to a complete absence of activity.Changes in registration process
The registration process has evolved since January 2025 with the automatic inclusion of certain RSA beneficiaries and accompanied young people. The Dreets presents categories F, dedicated to social pathways, and G, for people waiting for orientation, separately. Registration data do not coincide with the unemployment rate measured by Insee.Update deadlines and procedures
The October update has a deadline of November 15. For registered individuals who are required to update their information, the October declaration period has been open since October 28 and ends on November 15, 2026. The official France Travail calendar provides for the first transfers to begin on November 2 for affected beneficiaries.Guidelines for certain groups
France Travail reminds, in its guidelines on changes in circumstances, that some groups without an open right to an allowance, particularly those in social pathways or waiting for their first engagement contract, are not subject to this procedure. Each registered individual can check in their personal space whether an update is expected and declare their worked periods there.Support for job seekers
To adapt a job search or consider training, a meeting with a France Travail advisor allows for examining the professional project and support actions. The next quarterly report on registered individuals in Gironde is announced by the Dreets for January 28, 2027.
