Publication of a new book

The book Le Triangle du pouvoir by Pascal Boniface has been published by Tallandier editions. It explores the geopolitical perspectives of Finnish President Alexander Stubb, who identifies three main centers of global power: the West, China, and the Global South.

Stubb's geopolitical vision

Stubb’s analysis focuses on the shifting dynamics of global influence, emphasizing the rise of the Global South and the challenges faced by the West. He argues that the West must adapt its strategies to maintain relevance in this new geopolitical landscape.

Critique of U.S. strategies

Boniface examines the strategic missteps of the United States, including the "war on terrorism" and the military interventions in Iraq and Afghanistan. He also highlights the impact of the Russian invasion of Ukraine on global stability and Western credibility.

Challenges from the Global South

According to Boniface, the Global South is increasingly questioning Western actions, particularly regarding sanctions against Russia and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. This has created a challenge for the West to maintain its influence and legitimacy on the global stage.

Call for a new approach

Stubb suggests that the West must defend an international order based on rules but must do so consistently and with greater inclusivity. He advocates for listening to the Global South and leading by example rather than imposing values unilaterally.

Reflection on Western power

Boniface presents Stubb’s views as a clear-eyed assessment of the limits of Western power and the growing importance of the Global South in shaping the future world order. This perspective comes from a Western leader who recognizes the need for a more balanced and cooperative global strategy.
