Orange has informed some of its customers about upcoming changes to several of its pricing plans, as reported by Que Choisir. One customer received two communications from the French incumbent operator, informing them of a price increase on their mobile plan as well as on the fees associated with their fixed line. While the first category can be easily rejected by a subscriber, the second is mandatory. It is expected to affect all Orange customers without any possibility of escaping it, unless they cancel their subscription. Regarding mobile plans, Orange is replicating a technique commonly used by its competitors, offering this customer the option to increase their monthly data allowance in exchange for a price increase. In this case, the proposal is to move from a plan with 130 GB of data to a plan with 200 GB, for an additional €2 per month. The change was set to automatically apply to the three plans in their household, unless they rejected it before a deadline, which they did. If you are a subscriber with Orange on 4G or 5G, watch out for the operator's messages, as you may receive similar offers and the price increase will be automatically applied without any action from your side. The other price change cannot be avoided, at least not while remaining a customer. Starting November 16, 2026, Orange will apply additional fees on the equipment provided as part of its fixed internet access offers. The company will thus charge €10 for shipping a Livebox or decoder, except in the case of a fault, whereas it was previously free. It will also be necessary to anticipate increases in the penalties applied if the equipment is not returned on time. Previously charged between €49 and €200 depending on the equipment, it will now be necessary to account for between €100 and €300. Finally, the fees for canceling a fixed line subscription will also increase to €69, compared to €50 to €60 depending on the offers today. All French operators have increased these fees in recent times, even though the operation remains relatively painless in practice. Indeed, companies generally reimburse the cancellation fees of the old line as a commercial gift to attract new customers.
