From October 21 to 23, 2026, the National Bar Convention will be held in three cities in southern France: Toulouse, Albi, and Montauban. This event takes place nine years after the last convention and will bring together lawyers for three days of discussion, networking, and social interaction. The convention aims to highlight the profession's capacity to imagine the future and pursue its goals with strength and determination. It will include debates, training sessions, workshops, meetings with partners, and opportunities for colleagues from across France to connect and share experiences. The National Bar Convention is described as a vibrant agora—a public space for discussion and exchange—where the role of lawyers as defenders of rights, participants in the economy, and creators of justice and freedom is emphasized. The event is also seen as a moment of rest and reflection in a rapidly changing world marked by digital, economic, and geopolitical shifts. These changes have created new challenges and opportunities for the legal profession, making the convention a timely gathering. Julie Couturier, President of the National Council of Bars, has encouraged lawyers to attend in large numbers to engage in debates, share insights, make commitments, and celebrate the unity and diversity of the profession. The interactive program for the 2026 National Convention of Lawyers is now available for review, offering attendees a glimpse into the wide range of activities and discussions that will take place. The convention promises to be an important event for the legal community, reinforcing the importance of collaboration and shared vision in the face of evolving societal needs.
