First major update delayed

Paralives, an independent game often compared to The Sims, has announced its first major update, though the release date has been pushed back from the end of the year to an unspecified later date. The developers explained that they want to ensure the game’s foundation is solid before introducing more complex features.

Focus on social and gameplay improvements

The update will emphasize social relationships, with new relationship levels such as friend, romantic, and enemy unlocking unique content. Players will experience more dynamic interactions, including conversations initiated by characters and new cards for flirting, teasing, and humor.

Rewriting traits and improving rewards

The "Jester" trait will be reworked to better reflect a character's humor rather than random actions. Rewards for completing objectives, such as life goals and community center tasks, will be more meaningful, with new goals and better incentives for players.

Economic and construction changes

The game’s economy will be adjusted to make earning money more challenging, with revised starting funds, prices, and salaries. More expensive furniture will offer greater benefits, and construction mode will see stability improvements, including bug fixes and new furniture options.

New content and future plans

New content in Life mode includes two new skills, secret job opportunities, and story cards. The Paramaker tool for character creation will have expanded options for body types, hairstyles, and clothing. Future updates will introduce weather, seasons, and world editing tools, with the development team expanding to include more programmers and testers.
