Adèle Haenel, a French actress and artist, will open the 11th edition of Automne en Librairies, an event celebrating books and authors in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region. She will participate in two meetings centered around her first book, Viser juste, published by L'Arche editions. The event, organized by the Libraires du Sud network, will run from October 7 to 10, 2026, in multiple cities across the region. Haenel will begin on Saturday, October 3 at 7 p.m. at the Histoire de l'Œil bookstore in Marseille, followed by an appearance at the L'Ensauvagée festival in Saint-Paul-sur-Ubaye the next day at 2 p.m., in collaboration with the L'Encabanée bookstore. During the four-day event, 11 authors will attend 32 events across 31 bookstores. The participating authors include Giulia Foïs, Mathilde Forget, Claudie Gallay, Raphaëlle Giordano, Karim Kattan, Emmelene Landon, Marie-Aude Murail, Mathieu Simonet, Lisa Mouchet, Clémence Paldacci, and Sylvain Prudhomme. Events will take place in cities such as Marseille, Arles, Aix-en-Provence, Avignon, Nice, Gap, Manosque, Hyères, Toulon, Forcalquier, Carpentras, Tarascon, Lambesc, Guillestre, and L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue. This year, the publisher La Partie editions is being honored for its fifth anniversary. Known for publishing children's books in diverse formats, including picture books, comics, and artist books, the publisher will be well-represented at the event. Lisa Mouchet, an illustrator and author, will attend two events and will present her first children's album, Tambouille, which highlights themes of resourcefulness and solidarity. Clémence Paldacci, an illustrator with over fifteen years of experience in publishing, will participate in three events and will showcase her work Le grand imagier moderne de la maison, which reimagines traditional picture books in a contemporary setting. Other notable authors include Giulia Foïs, who will present her first novel, Les Filles de la librairie, and Mathilde Forget, who returns with Certaines fièvres échappent au mercure. Claudie Gallay takes readers to Alaska in her book La promesse des chiens, while Raphaëlle Giordano explores the work of photographer Gaspard Palomino in Les miroirs sourient à ceux qui s'aiment. The event also features Palestinian writer Karim Kattan, painter and writer Emmelene Landon, and author Marie-Aude Murail, who continues her Sauveur & fils series. The event is supported by several cultural and regional institutions, including the Sofia, the DRAC, and the South Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur Region.
