Decathlon has introduced a temporary price reduction on two of its urban electric scooters, the Btwin SD500 E and Btwin MD500 E, until October 31. The Btwin SD500 E is now available for 249.99 euros, a 30 euro discount, while the Btwin MD500 E is priced at 299.99 euros, a 50 euro discount. These reductions represent up to 14 percent off the original prices. The promotion began on September 27 and is valid through the end of October. Both models are equipped with a 350 W motor, 10-inch inflatable wheels, and an IPX5 certification, which allows them to resist light rain. The key difference between the two is the battery capacity, which affects their range. The Btwin SD500 E has a lithium-ion battery of 208 Wh (5.2 Ah), providing a range of 25 km in Eco mode, 18 km in Normal mode, and 15 km in Sport mode. The Btwin MD500 E, on the other hand, has a battery with double the capacity—416 Wh (10.4 Ah)—which increases the range to 45 km in Eco mode, 35 km in Normal mode, and 30 km in Sport mode. Both models comply with French regulations by limiting their speed to 25 km/h. They share similar features, including an LCD screen, mechanical disc brake at the rear, electronic brake at the front, LED lighting, and a stop light. The Btwin SD500 E weighs 16.2 kg and can be folded quickly, while the Btwin MD500 E is slightly heavier at 17 kg. Despite the added weight, the MD500 E is better suited for longer distances due to its larger battery, which requires less frequent recharging. Decathlon sells and delivers both models with a two-year warranty and the option for loyalty account holders to return the product within 365 days. The Btwin SD500 E is ideal for short and occasional trips, whereas the Btwin MD500 E is recommended for longer commutes. Neither model includes suspension, and the 10-inch wheels are designed to handle urban surfaces like paving stones and asphalt joints but do not provide the same shock absorption as dedicated suspension systems. The price reductions remain in effect until October 31.
