Terrain manipulation in Dirt Town

Dirt Town is a new simulator game that lets players change the landscape in a realistic way, similar to the game RoadCraft. The game focuses on the physical accuracy of how different materials interact with the environment.

Realistic material behavior

In Dirt Town, every cubic meter of earth can be moved, with elements like sand, clay, tires, and water affecting the environment in a physically accurate way. For example, sand collapses, clay holds its shape, tires dig ruts, and water causes floods.

Real-world data and environments

Snow accumulates gradually on roads, and some snow-covered villages in the game are designed using real Swiss cartographic data. This attention to detail aims to create a more immersive and authentic experience for players.

Vehicles and activities

Players can operate bulldozers, loaders, ATVs, and tracked rescue vehicles, engaging in activities such as digging foundations, building ramps, moving rubble, or clearing snow from villages. These tasks are designed to mimic real-world construction and disaster response scenarios.

Future plans and release

The game will include online cooperation and is set to be available on PC in the coming months, though no precise release date has been announced. The development team plans an additional year of work to create an environment spanning 10×10 kilometers.
