The 12th edition of the Florilège creative and collaborative writing challenge has officially begun, with the theme "Ça va chauffer !" (It's going to heat up!) for the 2026-2027 academic year. This theme invites participants to explore topics related to heating, warmth, and intensity in various contexts such as nature, the human heart, the urn, or the street. The challenge is open to multiple genres, including poetry, short stories, and theater, and allows for diverse formats such as text, podcasts, and videos. Participants are also permitted to use artificial intelligence in their work, as long as they provide a clear explanation of how the AI was used in the creative process. The Florilège challenge brings together students from all educational levels and countries, promoting a collaborative approach to writing. Jean-Michel Le Baut, author of L’Ecole face à l’IA: faire le choix de l’intelligence pédagogique (School Facing AI: Choosing Pedagogical Intelligence), highlights that the inclusion of AI in the challenge reflects a broader need to adapt educational practices. He argues that the focus should be on creativity, unpredictability, and collaborative intelligence, rather than on technological isolation. Florilège is a joint initiative by the International Federation of French Teachers (FIPF), the French Association for the Teaching of French (AFEF), and the Montpellier Academy. These organizations aim to encourage the use of French in creative and educational contexts around the world. Submissions for the challenge must be received by March 31, 2027, at the latest. Detailed information about the challenge, including guidelines and submission procedures, can be found on the AFEF website. The Florilège challenge not only fosters creativity and collaboration among students but also encourages the integration of new technologies in education. By allowing the use of AI, the challenge acknowledges the evolving landscape of learning and the importance of adapting teaching methods to include digital tools. This initiative provides a platform for students to explore the theme "Ça va chauffer !" through various artistic expressions, promoting both linguistic and creative development.
