Bali police are looking into the deaths of an Australian man and his two young children, found in their home in Kuta, a well-known tourist destination on the Indonesian island. Damien John Shaw, 56, and his six-year-old son and four-year-old daughter were discovered dead in their bungalow on Sunday. According to authorities, the incident came to light after a neighbor checked in on the family following a call from Shaw’s wife, who had become worried after speaking with her husband. At the time, the wife was not in Bali, having recently traveled to Jakarta. Australian media have reported that police are considering the case as a suspected murder-suicide, though no official conclusion has been reached. Police told the BBC that they are still determining the cause and manner of death and that further examinations are planned. According to reports, Shaw’s wife called a neighbor after hearing one of her children crying during a phone call with her husband. After that, she was unable to reach him again. The neighbor, along with other local residents, reportedly entered the home after finding no response to their knocks. Inside, they found the three victims. Damien Shaw was originally from Fremantle in Western Australia, according to police. Roger Cook, the Premier of Western Australia, called the situation "very confronting" and expressed sympathy for those involved. "This is a very sad situation; our hearts go out to everyone involved. We hope we can get to the bottom of what's gone on as soon as possible," he said. The case has drawn attention both locally and internationally, with authorities working to uncover the full circumstances surrounding the tragic deaths.
