Apple introduces new smart home screen

Apple has introduced its first fixed smart home screen called HomeView, which is attached to a speaker. The product is designed to compete with similar devices from Amazon and Google.

HomeView has current limitations

The current HomeView model lacks the ability to pivot or adjust its angle. A larger version, possibly named HomeView Ultra, Max, or 360, is being developed to address this limitation.

Larger model will have robotic arm

The upcoming larger model will feature a 9-inch screen mounted on a robotic arm. This will allow the device to move and adjust its position for greater flexibility and user interaction.

HomeView based on older product

According to analyst Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, the current HomeView is based on an older product that had been stored in a warehouse for nearly a year. This explains some of the design choices and hardware used in the device.

Launch date has been delayed

The launch of HomeView has been postponed several times. Originally planned for spring 2025, it was delayed to summer, then autumn, and finally to spring of this year.

Larger model expected in 2027 or 2028

The larger model, internally called J595, is expected to be released in 2027 or 2028. It will be able to recognize the person speaking to it and follow the user's movements with its motorized arm.

Pricing for new model unknown

The new model is likely to be more expensive than the current HomeView, but no specific price estimates have been provided at this time.
