The espionage role-playing game ZERO PARADES: For Dead Spies has been officially announced to receive a Director's Cut edition, which will be released alongside the game's availability on PlayStation 5. The update is free for those who already own the base game on PC, which was first released in May of last year. The Director's Cut adds nearly 40,000 words of previously unreleased textual content, including new dialogues and a dramatic scene known as the Roundabout of Quisach. In this scene, the protagonist, Hershel Wilk, and her ally Ramses find themselves trapped aboard a hijacked tuk-tuk, a small motorized vehicle common in parts of Asia.
The expansion also introduces a new mode called "Backstage," which allows players to explore early versions of certain levels and interact with audio orbs commented on by the game's art director, Kaspar Tamsalu. These audio orbs provide insight into the production process, including elements that were removed from the final version of the game. On the technical side, the update includes re-recorded English voiceovers, new character outfits, redesigned death screens, and support for ultra-wide screens in 21:9 and 32:9 aspect ratios. It also features remapped controls, inventory sorting, a mode for players sensitive to flashing lights, and censorship bars to classify the history of dialogues.
The PC version of ZERO PARADES: Director's Cut is scheduled to launch on October 1, 2026, while the PlayStation 5 version will be available on November 3, 2026. The game is developed by the same team behind Disco Elysium, a critically acclaimed role-playing game known for its deep, complex narrative and player-driven storytelling. This new edition aims to enhance the original experience with additional content and improved technical features, offering fans a more comprehensive and immersive journey through the game's intricate world.
