A 7-year-old boy stabbed his aunt during the night of Thursday, September 17, into Friday, September 18, according to reports by BFMTV and Le Parisien, citing police sources. The victim, a 49-year-old woman, died from her injuries after being stabbed in the throat. Emergency services were called at 4:30 a.m. in Saint-Maur-des-Fossés after a neighbor discovered the woman injured in the street. Despite immediate medical attention, she did not survive. According to initial details from the investigation, the incident began with an argument between the victim and her 34-year-old sister, which occurred in the early hours of the morning at the sister’s home. The argument reportedly started over a minor issue. The 7-year-old nephew of the victim, who was present at the scene, allegedly tried to intervene and protect his mother. According to preliminary information, he then stabbed his aunt in the throat with a knife. The victim, bleeding heavily, fled to the street, where she screamed for help. Several people, including a neighbor, a nurse, and two VTC (private hire car) drivers, rushed to assist her before the police arrived. When the police arrived, they found the 7-year-old boy collapsed with his mother, who was also injured. Both were taken to the hospital for treatment. Due to the boy’s young age, he will not face formal judicial proceedings. French law generally prohibits legal action against individuals under the age of 13, as they are presumed to lack the maturity to be held legally responsible for their actions. The prosecutor’s office in Créteil, which oversees the area, declined to comment further on the case at this time. The investigation is ongoing, and more details may emerge as the authorities continue to look into the incident.
