The International Funkauser Association (IFA) Berlin 2026, a major global trade fair for consumer electronics, highlighted a range of new technologies aimed at improving how people charge their electronic devices. Companies like UGreen, Belkin, and ESR showcased innovative solutions designed to increase charging efficiency and user convenience for devices such as smartphones, tablets, and laptops. UGreen unveiled a new line of wireless chargers that incorporate liquid cooling technology. One of the standout products, the MagFlow Pro Magnetic Power Bank, uses a micro-pump system to circulate liquid coolant, significantly reducing heat buildup. This helps prevent device throttling, a process where a device slows down to manage heat, and can improve charging speeds. During testing, UGreen reported that its liquid cooling system kept temperatures 18°F (10°C) lower than the industry standard. Additionally, UGreen introduced cat-themed wireless chargers that are compact, feature detachable feet, and offer up to 45W charging speeds via a USB-C port. Belkin introduced a new generation of power banks that use semi-solid-state battery technology, which is denser and more efficient than traditional lithium-ion batteries. These power banks offer greater capacity in a slimmer design and are expected to last longer before their performance degrades. Two models were showcased: the Belkin UltraCharge Pro Slim Magnetic Power Bank with a 5,000mAh capacity, and the larger 10,000mAh UltraCharge Pro model, which can deliver up to 60W of power, includes dual USB-C ports, and features a built-in display to monitor charging progress and temperature. ESR presented dual-retractable cable chargers, offering a more organized and space-saving charging solution. The 100W Xtend wall charger includes two retractable cables that can extend up to 95cm (3.1ft), allowing users to charge two devices at the same time. A more compact version, the ESR Xtend 45W, includes one retractable cable and an additional USB-C port for charging two devices simultaneously, making it ideal for users with limited space.
