Xiaomi has announced the global release of its Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max smartphones, which were first launched in China on September 23, 2026. The company’s marketing director, Xu Fei, confirmed that international versions of the 18 Pro series will be available, with some adjustments in technical features, especially related to battery performance. The phones boast ultra-thin screen bezels measuring just 0.99 mm and rounded edges, all protected by a new type of glass called Dragon Crystal 3.0. The back of the devices includes a secondary screen with advanced OLED M11 technology, capable of reaching up to 4,000 nits of brightness. The only distinction between the two models is their screen size: 2.7 inches for the 18 Pro and 2.9 inches for the 18 Pro Max.
The Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max are the first smartphones to use the newest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. The standard Xiaomi 18 Pro includes the 8 Elite Gen 6 version, while the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max is equipped with the more powerful Extreme version of the same chip. The camera system, developed in partnership with Leica, features two 200 megapixel sensors, along with a 50 megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, offering high-quality photography capabilities.
Both models include a Jinshajiang silicon-carbon battery, with capacities of 7,000 mAh for the Xiaomi 18 Pro and 8,500 mAh for the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max. They also support wired fast charging at 100 W, wireless charging at 50 W, and are rated with an IP68 certification for water and dust resistance. The devices run on HyperOS 4, which is based on Android 17. In China, the Xiaomi 18 Pro series starts at 5,999 yuan, approximately 760 euros before taxes for the base model. Xiaomi expects the global launch to happen in 2026, assuming import processes are already in place. However, some regional variations may still exist, such as in India, where only the standard Xiaomi 18 Pro model has been mentioned so far.
