Expedia launches new onboarding system

Expedia Group has introduced Autonomous Onboarding, a new system that streamlines the process for accommodations to join its platform. This system enables properties to choose Expedia Group as a distribution channel through their connectivity provider, accept the contract, and publish their listing in under 24 hours.

Simplifying integration for hotels

The primary goal of the system is to eliminate the need for multiple integration steps and the repeated entry of the same information. Autonomous Onboarding automatically transfers essential data such as room types, rates, photos, amenities, payment methods, and availability from the property to Expedia Group.

Validation before listing

According to a press release, the information transferred by the system is validated by Expedia Group before the listing goes live. Once listed, accommodations can be accessed through Expedia’s consumer brands, including Expedia, Hotels.com, and Airbnb, as well as its B2B network.

Expanding distribution through AI

Expedia Group also mentioned that distribution can occur through new travel partnerships powered by agentive artificial intelligence. The company’s platform recorded an average of over one billion monthly searches in 2025 and more than 415 million room nights booked for the year.

Pilot with connectivity partners

The solution was developed with five connectivity partners during a pilot phase: HotelRunner, Yanolja Cloud Solutions, RoomCloud, RateGain, and Eviivo. For Chris Hodges, vice president of Global Connectivity & Partner Solutions at Expedia Group, this initiative marks the first step toward more autonomous distribution, aiming to reduce manual operations and allow partners to focus more on business development.
