Dyson has introduced three new fan-purifiers, all featuring a unique star-shaped nozzle. This design is intended to produce a powerful yet quiet airflow, drawing inspiration from aviation engineering. The new models, called the HushJet fan-purifiers, have a bulky, curved body with a large, star-shaped opening. Some have likened the design to the giant sandworms from the new Dune films, making it a striking but polarizing look. The HushJet Purifier Compact was first released in September 2025, followed by the HushJet Mini Cool personal fan. The full range of models was recently showcased at an event in Berlin, which took place alongside the IFA 2026 trade show. The star-shaped nozzle is designed to reduce turbulence in the air stream, allowing the fans to deliver a strong jet of air while remaining nearly silent. Testing has shown that these new models outperform Dyson’s previous loop-style fans in terms of airflow power. However, the bold design has divided opinions—some feel it would be more suitable for offices or commercial spaces than for home use, particularly in living rooms. Each HushJet model serves as both a fan and an air purifier. The top model, the Dyson HushJet Big+Quiet Cool Pure+ Formaldehyde, is the most advanced, capable of capturing a wide range of pollutants, including formaldehyde, a common indoor chemical found in building materials and furniture. It is ideal for large spaces like offices and can also clean multiple rooms in a home. Medium-sized models, the HushJet Pure Cool+ Formaldehyde and the HushJet Hot Cool Pure+, offer similar purification features but with the added ability to function as heaters during colder months. However, the Hot Cool model lacks the formaldehyde-capturing function. The medium-sized HushJet Pure Cool+ Formaldehyde will cost $599 in the US, £549.99 in the UK, and AU$999 in Australia. The HushJet Hot Cool Pure+ will be priced similarly, though the Australian price is still to be confirmed. The large HushJet Big+Quiet Cool Pure+ Formaldehyde will cost $1,099 in the US, £899.99 in the UK, and prices for Australia are pending. In the US, all three models will be available in fall 2026. In the UK, the large and medium Formaldehyde models will launch in October, with the heater model arriving in December. In Australia, the Cool Pure+ Formaldehyde model will be available in October 2026, with the other two models launching in early 2027.
