The Chinese automaker Chery is expanding its presence in Europe with the launch of its new commercial vehicle brand, Delivan. The brand, unveiled earlier this year in the United Kingdom, showcased its models at the IAA show in Hanover, Germany. Delivan plans a gradual introduction to European markets starting in 2027, with France among the priority regions. The brand, developed by Chery Commercial Vehicle, aims to take a different approach by involving European fleet customers and managers in the design process. Its headquarters is in Liverpool, and it has already begun setting up operations in Germany. Orders are expected to open in the fourth quarter of 2026 on certain markets.
The Delivan range is based on a single platform that can be configured in various ways. The first two models are the Delivan L1H1 and L2H3, along with the chassis-cab L3CC. The L1H1 is 4.995 meters long and under 2 meters in height, offering 6.9 cubic meters of usable volume and a payload of up to 1,400 kg. It is powered by an electric motor producing 175 kW (238 hp) and 325 Nm of torque, with front-wheel drive. The L2H3 is longer and taller, measuring 5.495 meters and 2.60 meters respectively, with a volume of 11.6 cubic meters and a payload ranging from 1,000 to 1,300 kg depending on the battery. Both models can tow up to 2.5 tons. The L3CC chassis-cab has a 150 kW (204 hp) motor and 380 Nm of torque, paired with a 97.4 kWh battery. It is available in two versions: the N1, which can carry 1,380 kg, and the N2, which can carry up to 2,120 kg. However, the N2 version requires a C1 license in France.
Delivan vehicles are equipped with comprehensive multimedia and comfort features, including a 12.8-inch central touchscreen, an 8.8-inch digital combination display, direct access controls, USB-A and USB-C ports, a wireless charger, heated seats and steering wheel, remote air conditioning, and a heated windshield. To cater to European professionals, Delivan is developing a full conversion ecosystem with several European specialists. At the Hanover show, four versions were presented: Crew Van, Fridge Box, Tools Storage, and 3-Way Tipper, each designed for specific uses like passenger transport, cold storage, tool storage, and material handling. Delivan has strengthened its partnership with Gruau, a French bodybuilder, who will officially help with vehicle conversions. Gruau can use its facilities in France, Italy, and Poland to adapt the vehicles to local needs. Other partners, including Sortimo, Junge, and Bott, are also involved in developing these solutions. Delivan also plans to use standardized interfaces to make it easier to integrate various equipment.
Electrification is a central focus for Delivan, with all vehicles using lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries that are cooled and heated by liquid. Three battery capacities are available: 50.4, 68.7, and 97.4 kWh. On the L1H1, these allow ranges of 256 and 343 km under the WLTP standard. The L2H3 can achieve 216, 285, or 426 km depending on the battery size. The largest battery is paired with a 600 V electrical system. Fast DC charging takes about 22 minutes to charge from 15 to 80%. An on-board AC charger can reach 11 kW. A heat pump is also available to improve efficiency in cold weather. Delivan also offers a vehicle-to-load (V2L) feature that can power electrical tools directly. The on-board sockets can deliver up to 6.6 kW with the 97.4 kWh battery, while a dedicated output reaches 3.5 kW. A 10 kW E-PTO can power a dump bed, refrigeration unit, or hydraulic equipment. Connected services, including Delivan I, Pro, and X, are tailored for fleet management, vehicle availability, and conversions. The brand aims to offer a complete package that includes the vehicle, data, maintenance, and professional adaptations. Prices, the French distribution network, and commercial terms are still to be determined. Delivan still has to finalize these details before fully entering the European market. In the meantime, the standard guarantees are already known: 5 years or 240,000 km for the vehicle, and 8 years or 240,000 km for the battery.
